First Global Summit on Traditional Medicine -2023
The World Health Organization’s first global meeting on traditional medicine was held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India, on the 17th and 18th of August, and a medical team including Sri Lanka’s Minister of State for Indigenous Medicine, Sisira Jayakodi and Ayurveda Commissioner Dr. Dhammika Abeygunawardena participated.
In order to improve the health of the Lowasi people through the traditional medical methods available in countries around the world, the traditional medical methods are preserved, propagated, and the knowledge related to the local medical methods is exchanged through the building of inter-connections between the countries. done
In this conference, special attention has been paid to the special treatment and treatment patterns of the Sri Lankan traditional indigenous medicine system, where the programs carried out by the Ministry of Indigenous Medicine and the Department of Ayurveda for the upliftment of the indigenous medicine system have been evaluated.
The conference was attended with the expectation of sharing knowledge about how to use Sri Lanka’s long-standing traditional medical scientific knowledge and resources for the sustainable existence of mankind.
